Finding Minnesota!

WOO HOO, day 6 had come. We are so grateful to our new friend Deb Heitzman for allowing us to stay in her home. It was so convenient to get to as well. WE were all around spoiled!

I haven't mentioned it much but this ride was a fundraising ride. Each year when we do this we offer people an opportunity to sponsor a mile. The breakdown was as follows:
450 miles x 2 riders = 900 Miles The school needs more than $9,000 to pay the staff and we figured this would be a great start. 900 miles at $10 a mile. Easy! And it was. Generous people overwhelmed us! The thing about the Dominican and support, they can always use it... and when I say USE IT, I mean they will put it to GOOD use. We have a relationship there, we trust them. The final number rolled in JUST OVER $10,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mind-blown. To God be the glory, GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE. Thank you ALL.

That being said, the last day was pretty awesome... the weather was a bit breezy and cold and it looked like rain but we were spared!

The sun really wanted to shine...
We went from flat plains to hills with lots of dairy farms.

We stopped for a drink and were invited into this barn.It was incredible. They were wrapping up a couple years of cleaning so they could host a wedding inside. Sadly when we went in, we had left all our cameras on our bikes and only took this one as we were going to leave. It was pretty cool to be invited in to check out all their work.
Finding the border to Minnesota was difficult. I really wanted a big Welcome to Minnesota sign.
 We got nothing.

I think the border is at the bottom of this hill. There literally was no marker.
Dave Fewster was on his way to pick us up. It was great to see the man's face again.

When you get done with a ride like this it is surreal. We just kinda loaded the bikes up and hit the road. It was done. All the mapping, planning, calling, making videos, and taking pictures was done.
The Ride for the Dominican was a success again. While the ride was done, the impact was only beginning. Eighty kids were invested in by a school staff because of your support. The possibilities there are endless! Once again we all were a part of something HUGE!

Day 6 stats
