Day 5!

Day 5 didn't have a lot of action.
We were extremely tired from the 95 miles the day before. We slept in a hotel and got off to a slow start. Today was the day my wheel would get fixed. NO MORE BROKEN SPOKE. Broken spokes seem to follow me. This one was particularly baffling since, unlike other time I broke a spoke or two, I don't remember hitting anything that could have broken a spoke! A good way to break a spoke is to bottom out the tire and hit the rock or whatever with the rim. For as spindly as spokes are, they are pretty tough. This bike to the best of my knowledge had less than a thousand miles so it didn't make much sense. Oh well. Thanks to Ron's Bicycle Sale and Repair in Mitchell, South Dakota I got a new spoke. These guys were super kind. We recommend them.

The ground was fairly flat and the scenery was field after field. It was a bit windy, but after some free breakfast we were good to go.

69 miles would have felt short if it wasn't for needing to get that repair and fighting a bit of wind. I was grateful for the help of friends who hooked us up with a place to stay about a mile off the trail!
